Our Story
Boise Crust was founded with a simple mission: bring authentic Detroit-style pizza to the treasure valley.
Growing up in London, Ontario - just 121 miles from Detroit - founder Kirk Gothard developed an appreciation for the food, culture, and pizza traditions that made Detroit famous. After moving to Idaho, he noticed authentic Detroit-style pizza was difficult to find, so he set out to build the kind of pizza shop he wished existed.
What started as a food truck in 2025, quickly gained a loyal following. Known for its crispy caramelized cheese edges, airy crust, premium ingredients, and creative menu, Boise Crust expanded into a Meridian restaurant (openong soon) while continuing to serve the community through catering, events, and its food truck.
Today, Boise Crust combines Detroit pizza traditions with Idaho Hospitality, creating a pizza experience that is uniquely Boise Crust.
